Shortlisted for the: Gem Awards

Every so often, a little sparkle finds its way up Steep Hill. This week it arrived in the best possible form: The Lincoln Imporium has been shortlisted for the Gem Awards, a brand-new celebration of the city's businesses from the team at Lincoln BIG.

A brand-new honour

To be recognised at all is wonderful. To be recognised in the very first year of a brand-new award feels especially lovely. Lincoln is a city with independence in its bones, full of makers, shopkeepers, and small teams pouring their hearts into what they do, and to be counted among them is a genuine privilege.

The awards evening takes place on the 1st of October. Whatever happens on the night, we already feel like winners, because this nomination belongs to our team of Imp Catchers. Every imp caught and rehomed, every Sip & Paint session, and every warm welcome at the top of the hill is their doing, and it is their craft and care that this recognises.

It is easy, in the day to day, to forget to stop and take stock. A moment like this is a good reason to. So to everyone who has climbed the hill, rehomed an imp, painted their own at a Sip & Paint session, or simply popped in to say hello: thank you. You are part of this too.

We will be raising a glass on the 1st of October, and we will let you know how we get on. Until then, we will be exactly where you left us, at 36 Steep Hill, keeping Lincoln's most mischievous residents in check.
